Designer’s poster makes the cut at AIGA’s Sight Six Design Exhibition

October 10, 2017

The Chicago Architecture Biennial (CAB) is the largest architecture and design exhibition in North America. This year’s second edition features over 140 practitioners from 20 countries exhibiting all over the city of Chicago. One of those exhibits is AIGA Chicago’s Sight Six poster design contest. Located in the Chicago Cultural Center, the exhibit featured twelve poster designs that honor the Biennial’s theme “Make New History”. Each poster was inspired by one of the six anchor sites of the CAB and were on display September 12-30, 2017.

One of the designers was our own, Samantha Mancini. Her poster, featuring a minimalist ink drawing of the DePaul Art Museum, was one of 35 entries selected for the exhibit. "The DePaul Art Museum was built only six years ago so I thought the clean lines of the building lent themselves very nicely to a minimalistic drawing."

Although this exhibit is no longer up, you can check out other Biennial exhibits in various locations across the city through January 7th, 2018 (chicagoarchitecturebiennial.org).
