Chicago Exhibit House Gives Back for the Holidays

December 18, 2012

We are a true believer in giving back to your community.  If there were more ways to do it - I would!  Personally I am not a advocate of just giving money - that is easy to do.  I am a huge fan of providing a service or offering a product that can be reused.  In the past, we have donated both trade show exhibits and other accessories to charitable organizations.   So what did we do this year?  We worked with Champion to supply a box of goods to be sent to our service members, we spent a day at Feed My Starving Children making meals, and we worked the food pantry at Northern Food Bank.  Here are the links to the organizations that we helped.  I hope it makes a difference!  Have a wonderful and safe Holiday Season!

Operation Gratitude annually sends 100,000 care packages filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation addressed to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed in hostile regions, to their children left behind and to Wounded Warriors, Veterans and First Responders. Our mission is to lift morale, bring a smile to a service member’s face and express to our Armed Forces the appreciation and support of the American people. Each package contains donated product valued at $75-100 and costs the organization $15 to assemble and ship. For safety and security, assembling of packages occurs at the Army National Guard armory in Van Nuys, California. Since its inception in 2003, Operation Gratitude volunteers have shipped more than 815,000 packages to American Military members.

Feed My Starving Children

Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, and we ship the meals to nearly 70 countries around the world.

Northern Food Bank

Northern Illinois Food Bank is a non-profit organization that engages the community in a commitment to feed our hungry neighbors. Across 13 counties, food manufacturers, local groceries, corporations, foundations, and individuals come together to donate food and funds, and evaluate and repack food for distribution to our more than 600 network partners – the food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and youth and senior feeding programs that serve more than 60,000 different people each week.
