Trade Show Marketing - Using the Internet For Free

October 20, 2011

I recently participated in a webinar on Non-Paid Marketing: The Art of Getting Found Everywhere for Free and I took away a couple interesting points.  First of all.  The process of selling has NOT changed in years but the process of buying has and because of that we need to be more knowledgeable as marketers - even in the trade show display business.

trade show marketing on the internet

Here is how prospects research something they are going to purchase:

1.  They search the internet

2.  They ask friends (mostly through social networks now like facebook and linked in).

3.  They seek expert opinions and reviews like yelp.

4.  The seek question and answer sites like blogs and forums.

So what does this mean to you?  It means that you need to make sure your company's website is listed in all these venues and ALL are FREE!!  You just need to take the time to own and manage each of them.  There are currently 3 billion searches on Google today so you need to get your share!!

One suggestion from this event was to check a site so see where your company is listed - www.getlisted.org and start the process today!!
