The trade show industry has been impacted by the recession over the last year but I fully expect that things will return to normal. Why? Because trade shows have been going on forever. When I finished college I bought a one way ticket to Bangkok, stopping along the way in Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines etc. I made my way into Nepal and made a quick decision to trek alone to Mt Everett. About 10 days into the trek I reach a place called Namche Bazarr. Each Saturday, as they have been doing for centuries, Serpans come in from all around with their goods and wares so as to be apart of what is in effect a trade show. As a credentialed secondary History Teacher from California, I tend to think that history is a powerful force. Trade Shows and the people to people interaction that they provide will be around long after we’re gone.
